Welcome to one of the most exceptional places
to vacation in all of the Rocky Mountains.
From wildflowers and opera, to cowboys and culinary delights, the Gunnison area is a truly unique destination for all seasons. Here in the heart of the Rockies, travelers are treated to awe-inspiring views, more than two million acres of hiking and biking trails, and 9,000 acres of fishable water.
The Gunnison Valley welcomes outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy an abundance of year-round recreational activities including alpine and nordic skiing, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, boating, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly-fishing, waterskiing, sailing, camping and horseback riding.
Art lovers are inspired by signature events that fill the calendar in summer and fall. And heritage travelers will enjoy our museums and historic walking tours.
The RTA bus runs a free loop through the City of Gunnison before heading north on Hwy 135 to Almont, Crested Butte, and Mt. Crested Butte. There may be delays due to weather.
