The Mission of the Center for the Arts is to enrich and expand community participation in the Arts. We do this by hosting a wide variety of performances throughout the year - concerts, theater, dance, speakers, conferences and more. The Center is a 215-seat theater with in-house sound and lighting capabilities.
Upstairs at the Center is the Piper Gallery - a visual and multi-media art gallery. The Piper has become a very popular venue for local artists to exhibit their work.
The 12,000-square-foot Gunnison Arts Center is a community arts center dedicated to exhibiting and developing visual, literary and performing artists in the Gunnison Valley. With three gallery exhibit spaces, a gallery shop, a dance studio, a 72-seat community theatre/stage, a clay center for ceramics, meeting rooms and a visual arts classroom all under one roof, there is truly something for everyone at the Gunnison Arts Center.
Located on the banks of the Tomichi Creek, the new I Bar Ranch is the Gunnison Valley’s authentic, outdoor, western heritage event center. The brainchild of local residents Bryan Wickenhauser and Jennifer Michel, owners/operators/frontline employees, the I Bar Ranch is situated on a ten‐acre hay meadow in a highly visible location just east of Gunnison along Hwy 50. The ranch is home to a robust summer music series the helps to drive the Gunnison economy during peak summer tourism months.
